Changsha

The city of Changsha was a tranformative place for Mao Zedong - from a wayward peasant youth to a dedicated workaholic activist. Inevitably, some of the places associated with his early career became revolutionary sacred sites, albeit of a somewhat minor nature.

Significant in Hunan, they had little or no place in the bigger story of the national revolution.
