This impressive Maozhang features seven revolutionary sacred sites instead of the more usual five or three. The reverse inscription commemorates the opening of the 9th National Congress. The issuing authority can be read as "Project 523" - the research effort that developed the anti-malarial drug Qinghaosu (Artemisinin).
