Landscapes
The obverse simplicy of the gold badge - widely spaced striations and red paint (easier and cheaper to apply than red plastic or lacquer) - constrasts with the fine detail of the image of Yan'an in the reverse hollow.
On the silver badge the reverse version of Yan'an is impressionistic, to say the least, and contrasts with the competently standard depiction of Shaoshan on the obverse.
