The approaching train motif was considered suitable for export, despite stream locomotives already being outdated in the West.

It is interesting (and perhaps just coincidence) that the two badges at bottom issued by railway workers, and which have "hand-drawn" China Railways logos on the reverse, do not depict trains on their obverses.
